LIQUID EMULSION ON RICE PAPER (2017)

This installation consists of 8 images shot on film in Japan, during Winter of 2016. This was one year after my grandfather had passed; thus the formation, materials used and intention all refer back to my own journey in processing his death. The capsule suspended in the center of the unclosed circle of images, contains a small amount of my grandfather’s ashes.

FABRIC ILLUSIONS

It is becoming a signature initiative to present one or more of my photographs as an illusive photographic installation involving inkjet prints on sheer fabric and aligned dowels to hang them from, moving from a two dimensional visual expression to three dimensional. I feel that this presentation always relates back to the idea of perspective; in art and photography perspective is always the element of excitement, anxiety, curiosity and mystery. Depending on theme or content, the chosen images to be displayed as such have a personal deeper significance at its core, and stays intentional no matter what.
